Piero, as thousands of experienced surgeons around the world, was ending is often long-hours chirurgical interventions exhausted, thirsty, burning eyes and a strong pain both in his back and his neck: leaning hours on the patient, in a wrong position, just releasing the weight of his body at the edge of a stool, was again a challenge to his own health. A sacrifice to make to help other to heal…
One day he had an idea: what about to study a new way of seating in an operating room? To lean on the patient sustained by a surface helping him to relax his body and distribute his weight reliefing it from the enormous physical effort he was discharging to his back?
Invention
The first sketchs have been drawed. He was thinking of a new chair, where he could lean frontally….sustraining his chest, his forehead and flexible enough to be moved on wheels, leaving his arms free to move in multiple directions, adjustable to his body shape and comfort….
After only a few days, he realized he was creating something that could revolutionize the widespread common concept of seating!
The year later, helped by a guided design innovation process, a patent was deposited…., and in 2022 its trade-mark.
